iPad + Windows or Macbook?

Hello, what is better to buy
1) iPad Air + Windows laptop
2) Macbook Air 512/16 (when it comes with M3)
I have an iPhone 14 Pro Max and an Airpod Pro 2. Both variants are about the same price, but I'm afraid that I will miss the touch screen on the Macbook. I've never had a Macbook before.
I need to connect a 34" monitor to work from home via RDP and then use the laptop to play movies, web browsing, basic stuff...
What would you buy?
PS: Do you think Apple will show the Macbook 12, it would probably suit me the most

Probably replying too late, but of course the answer is the MacBook Air.
You will appreciate seamless syncing of photos, messages, iCloud files, etc.

Absolutely stay with the MacBook, it will sync nicely with your iPhone, and if you get an iPad later it will sync with that as well. Not to mention macOS is far superior to windows and just works.
