Hacked palm pre with my tether = iPad 3G - gps lol
Anyone else using this setup

I'm using a verizon palm prē plus with mobile hotspot and it works wonderfully with my iPad.

The verizon Palm Pre plus has a hotspot app. The original sprint Palm Pre doesn't unless you Jallbreak it. In ether case using the Palm Pre in this manner cuts its battery time before recharge in half.

It's actually not too bad, I used mobile hotspot yesterday for about an hour and 45 min and still was able to get through the rest of the day and when i got home had 32% battery life left and this was at close to 11pm when i plugged it in.

And that was with the sprint pre?

tethering iPad with Palm Pre

I just got an iPad this weekend, and we're trying to tether with my husband's Palm Pre with Verizon. We've been able to tether his Mac Book Pro with no problems, but we can't seem to get the Palm to pick up the iPad or vice versa. Any suggestions?

Are you still able to receive calls and texts while using the device as a mobile hotspot?

no. verizon and sprint can not do voice and data at the same time. any incoming calls will go to straight to voicemail and outgoing calls will make your internet surfing stop.
