Been having trouble with my ipad 2 for a while now, it wont exit recovery mode and every attempt at a restore through iTunes fails... any help identifying the problem?? last few lines from the latest update log:

succeeded
[17:50:57.0089] Finished DFU Restore Phase: Successful
[17:50:57.0107] DFU mode device disconnected
[17:50:57.0108] Device removed when in state Restoring, moving device to transition state
[17:50:57.0110] Changing state from 'Restoring' to 'Transitioning'
[17:50:57.0112] Creating timer to monitor transition
[17:50:57.0319] Restore completed, status:4014
[17:50:57.0319] Failure Description:
[17:50:57.0319] Depth:0 Error:Unexpected device state 'DFU' expected 'Recovery'

I put the device in DFU mode after it failed to restore in recovery mode with the same error code, the last line from attempted restore in recovery mode:

[19:46:09.0590] Failure Description:
[19:46:09.0590] Depth:0 Error:Unexpected device state 'Recovery' expected 'RestoreOS'

any help would be appreciated!!!

Start with the basics...

1, new usb cable
2, different USB port
3, different machine.

All else fails pop in an Apple Store they'll check the hardware for you and restore from a local copy
