Ipad2 and apple tv air play

I am by no means a computer person so maybe this will be easy i found the espn watch app and installed it on the ipad then tried to watch the wisconsin game on my tv using the home share through our apple tv and only got sound no picture. The only image was a music note. Any thoughts? Thanks

No all apps allow that. HBO Go is another one that only sends audio via Airplay.

Yep, the app you are using has to be updated for AirPlay. If not, you will only get sound, no video.

I think you could do air play mirroring instead. It may not be as big of a picture but it would show up.
