Just check online and there doesn't seem to be any education discount for the iPad or Apple Care.

Is that just the first few weeks or am I missing something?

I called Apple today and was told there was no discount for EDU.

I asked if maybe there would be a deal on apple care and he said maybe

I dunno about AppleCare, but there's never been any education discounts for iPhones or iPads.

Yeah there is an EPP discount if you order online (don't think I can get it in the store). I think I'm impatient enough though that I'm going to buy it in the store.

They announced (one year ago in fact, March 19, 2010) an Edu bundle. Basically TEN iPads, in a box, no special packaging... one set of docs, etc. But you only saved $20 each.

https://www.macrumors.com/2010/03/1...ed-ipad-10-packs-to-educational-institutions/

"Apple has begun offering 10-pack iPad bundles for educational institutions, with a modest discount for quantity purchases. Each package includes ten iPads paired with USB-to-Dock Connector cables and power adapters, while a single set of documentation is shipped with each order.
The 10-packs reduce the price of each iPad by $20 for hardware-only purchases, with a $40 savings when AppleCare coverage is added to each device. The company is currently only offering Wi-Fi-enabled iPads through the education stores, including 16GB, 32GB or 64GB models.

Individual iPads carry the standard retail pricing through Apple's educational program. "

I just logged onto the store through our link and there is a modest discount listed for each model.

Is it different depending on employer?

Must be. I just went to the regular EPP site. The discounts must be company/organization specific.

Epp store has 10 dollars discount. Big F deal. You buying a 500 or higher tablet and worry about 10 dollars? Jesus christ.

Go to best buy and you will get about 10 dollars back with their reward program. Go to target and they will give you 5% off with their red card.

iPad is already aggressively priced. People talk about xoom xoom xoom and how much they hate iPAd's display or 1 megapixel camera on iPad.

Well, I don't see anyone is willing to pay more. So cheapos.
