I just had my black 32GB wifi iPad2 replaced due to faulty hardware. I think it looks a little different than the one I bought on launch day.

There seems to be a status light right above the front camera that I didn't notice on my previous one, and the camera lens in the back looks a little different too.

Not sure if this has been discussed before, can anyone confirm whether this is the case?

The 'status light' is just a light sensor, it's always been there.

Maybe you could post a picture of your lens?
What's different about it?

Any pic?

I thought the glass/plastic that covers the lens was closer to the lens so if you touch it it'd feel like there's a small hole there. Now it feels like a flat surface when I'm touching it.

I imagine its indented for the sole reason of trying to help prevent scratches on the lens.
But I'm sure they're not all the same depth, and some may be smooth with the iPads back. It's not going to make a difference, it's perfectly fine.

Is that the only thing different?

That has never been the case. The ambient light sensor has always been located under the same glass that covers the entire surface of an iOS device. Smooth as butter.

Yup pretty much.
