Ipad3 and verizon not working

I bought the ipad3 with verizin 4g at best buy in march not long after it was released. I wanted it mainly for emergency in case if power failure etc. just yesterday i set cellular up, bought 1gb prepaid and it didnt work. I spent an hour on the phone with verizon customer service and got nowhere. Today spoke to verizon tech support and he determined i had a bad sim. Went to verizon store and spent an hour as they set up new sim. It SEEMED to work in the verizon store BUT NOT at my home even in 3g. I see this has been an ongoing oroblem with apple blaming verizon and verizon blaming apple. I had an ipad2 with verizon 3g and it worked oerfectly. What to do? What to do? I'd like to return this POS to bb and either get a standard ipad3 or go back to ipad2 with 3g, but i cant imagine bb taking it back. I guess i could try to sell it on cl. Any udeas on a fix?
