iPad iPadAir not recognized on Windows 7

When I connect my iPadAir to Windows nothing happens. No indication on the iPad that it's connected nor anything on the Windows side. I'm not sure what the problem is since there's no problem under OSX. I'm using the same authentic lightning cable for both.
iOs and iTunes are up-to-date.

Check if anything disabled your USB ports/drivers in System Devices

I notice that sometimes when I plug my phone into the USB port at work (no iTunes installed there), the phone actually prompts me and asks if I want to "trust" this computer. I say "yes" but wonder if somehow "no" got selected on your device. Thus, the Air is hiding itself from your PC. Don't know how to solve, but worth looking into as a possiblity. Good luck!

Try a different USB port (as it will make a new attempt at connecting with the device)... Make sure your iPad is on, and awake, so that you may "Trust this computer" when prompted on your iPad.

You may also need to be connected to the internet on your computer so that it can seek out the drivers.
