So I have a 12.9” Pro. iPadOS 14.6 installed. Got the Logitech Combo Touch for it (you can detach the keyboard itself and use it as a kickstand case unlike MKB), plus I use the XBSX wireless controller for some gaming.
Does anybody with a similar combo like above, or owners of the Magic Keyboard and controller users, encounter problems with random hardware recognition issue on iPadOS 14.6? Something like scenarios below. It’s relatively minor and there’s a workaround. But I expect seamless integration at this price point and hardware capabilities.
For the Combo Touch, there are times when I detach the keyboard and just use the kickstand cover case in tablet mode, then reattach keyboard later for typing, and the iPad only PARTIALLY recognises it. What that means is that some function combo keys don’t work. There is no ‘Hardware Keyboard’ showing under Settings>General>Keyboard, and the virtual onscreen keyboard keeps popping up whenever I try to type something in any text body, taking half of the screen (I have Onscreen keyboard turned off in Asssitive Touch). Some functions work, but others don’t is my point. It’s like the OS is trying to decide how to recognise the hardware (think USB flash drive/portable drives and a faulty or underpowered USB port on a PC). To restore full function, detach and reattach again. I’m certain it was not a “loose connection” case. The magnet “clicked” very loudly.
For the controller, it keeps blinking even though in Bluetooth menu it says “Connected”. Launching Controller-supported games like COD Mobile or Genshin Impact, no controller detected. This is a bit more persistent of an issue since I have to turn Bluetooth on and off and do the same with the controller.
