With iPads finally getting the option of non-mirrored external displays, has anyone got a proper use case for them? I'm especially curious about workflows / productivity.

I've always thought external displays are a bit pointless on a touch-based device – how would you 'touch' the second screen? If you add in a mouse + keyboard, you're basically just creating an iPadOS desktop – which is ok I guess, but by then I may just prefer a Mac solution.

The only other time I considered an external display was for video previews in Lumafusion, but even then, I found the 12.9 Pro screen good enough on its own.

What uses will an external display have for you?

I would make a setup withe wireless Keyboard and trackpad (not the magic keyboard) and have the iPad on the side in horizontal mode for taking. The external screen would then hold all other apps. This is very similar to the MBP+external screen I use today but better as I get note taking possibilities without using another device.
