iph 3gs help needed!

Hey folks,

Looking for a bit of guidance on how to fix my iphone 3gs. It was jailbroken and working fine when somebody decided it would be a good idea to do a factory restore! That person shall remain nameless....Now its stuck on the boot up screen..
I've tried redsn0w and it goes through the process and tells me that the process is complete and I get the "Done!" message, however the phone still won't boot up...any ideas would be gratefully received!

Do you remember what iOS it was on? Any SHSH files saved?

put it in restore mode then play around with DFU Mode, try again. DOing these methods can be found online.

Plug it into iTunes and restore from there.
