Hello to you all. Lately my 11 started to behave erratically concerning cell strength signal. Signal would go as low as 1 bar then no bar at all and the System showing alert the connection couldn't be made. To the point I couldn't make conversations. I think it happened after updating to 17.7.2. Contacted carrier. Updated the "signal" on their side and they are doing a full investigation. Fiddling with the phone settings, I reverted back to 3G. To my surprise, the signal is back to 4 bars, steady, stable, strong. Plus the 11 is no more warm even hot to the touch. Battery stays longer too. But as you know 3G is slow as ****. Let's be honest: is it 17.7.2 (read this was a recurring problem of this version)? How to be assured 18.2 will fare better? Could it be the modem or the antennas in the iPhone 11 are screwed? New phone? I'm waiting for the next SE later this year and go the 18.2 route. Is there something I should know or do to use LTE again? My iPhone is A2111 with a 92% battery. No FB, no Tik no Tok, no gaming, no streaming but some Amazon music and Podcast in the car.
Can you help me please. Thanks merci.

One thing to be aware of: Many countries/carriers already shut off 3G. Depending on your carrier, you could only have two months left before you HAVE to use LTE/4G.

For what it's worth, when updating from iOS 17.7.2 to iOS 18.2.1, your iPhone 11 baseband will get updated from 5.00.00 to 6.01.01.
So it might improve things. Or not…

Oh. Thanks. I'm with Fido which Rogers is the parent company. So as I said I'm ****ed. So many bad reviews of iOS 18 be it .1 or .2. OK then I'm definitely waiting for the SE 2025.
