Hi - I purchased an Iphone 11 for my 12 year old son. My wife set up his account under the family setting which is on my wife's Iphone 8.

The Iphone 11 had to be restored to factor settings. My son's account is locked and I am unable to reset his password, my wife cannot recall what DOB / recovery email she put in and Apple advised they cannot help with this. the Iphone has stolen activation on so i cannot use that either. I did supply proof of purchase (I purchased it 2nd hand on blackmarket) to apply but they have refused to deactivate the lock.

The questions are;

1. Any options to reset my son's password e.g. could my wife do it on her Iphone? Tried this but advised need to wait due to stolen device activation but this has been over 1 hour know.

2. Could an in-person visit to an Apple store sort this out?

3. Any options to activate the Iphone e.g. download any software?

4. Purchase a new Iphone which for obvious reasons i do not want too.

i have advised Apple i want to put in a complaint as i have provided a receipt, proof of purchase, son's passport and delivery receipt but they have advised this is not enough for them to deactivate the phone.

thanks

Showing Apple a receipt that you bought the phone used is no verification at all that the phone wasn’t stolen when you bought it. This is why Apple won’t accept that as proof of legitimate ownership; there is nothing to complain about on that basis.
