Hello everyone!
I recently inherited a fully functional, (almost) flawless iPhone 11:
A quick look at the Settings App also provides a hint as to what might have caused this little issue:
"Unknown Part (Battery not from Apple)"
Also, the shadow is not permanent but only seems to be there when the iPhone was on standby for an extended period of time. As soon as there is some sustained load on the device, e.g. by running 3D Mark WildLife, the screen appears to "repair" itself:
When this happens, the display also gets a little brighter overall.
Therefore, I initially suspected that the technician performing the battery swap might not have properly attached the display cable to the logic board. After a quick visit to the Apple Store, however, this theory was refuted: "everything is connected properly, the display test did not reveal any abnormalities, everything should be fine".
My other theory, therefore, is a problem with the power delivery by the battery. Maybe there is a voltage/ current instability while the battery is cool, is that a possibility? What other explanations could there be for this dark corner aside from a defective display, of course?
Cheers,
