I have just upgraded from a 6s plus and I remember alot of talk on here about backlight bleed issues and screens being not uniform etc etc.
Back then I was 100% into that stuff as well and it seemed a true ‘problem’.

So color me surprised that my iphone 11 which I just received seemed very uniform, no backlight bleeding and just about blue enough (but not too much to hurt my eyes) after turning off true tone. When I did research on here deciding whether to go for the pro or the regular 11 I saw many saying their 11 did not have yellow tints and no mentions of backlight bleed either.

So has the apple QC gone up in that regard or have I been lucky?

I haven’t heard of significant issues in the past few years. My guess is Apple’s QC and Samsung’s quality (since they make Apple’s LCDs) have improved.

They both probably got a ton of practice in since the transition to bigger screens around the 6/6S era.

Just check Anandtech’s latest review for clarification as to why the 11 seems not to exhibit this yellow tint that the 11 Pro’s do.
