Hi Guys,

Just wanting to see how many other people are still experiencing issues where they are unable to use the Spotlight search feature to search their phone for either files or apps to launch.
For example in search if I type “saf” I should at least see Safari as an app to launch. Mine does nothing. I’ve shown Apple they are puzzled. Hard reset doesn’t fix it.
Reset All Settings fixes it for about 30 minutes before it stops working again.
iOS 13.2.3 should have fixed this issue yet I am still having it. They have replaced my iPhone 11 Pro Max and same issue. I even tried a full restore and restored from backup, worked perfectly for 6-12 hours before stopping again. I have an iPhone XS Max and that is working 100% for some reason it doesn’t like this iPhone 11 & iOS 13..

super annoying!!

here is an example:

Just tried it on my 11 Pro Max running the latest iOS 13 beta and all good here.
Hmm think it’s worth me running the beta then? Were you having issues with this previously? Apple seem to think I have too much data on my phone which is why it’s causing all these issues?

I don’t know if I did have the problem before to be honest but I don’t remember it being an issue. iOS 13.3 final will be out soon so I would wait. How much storage are you using?

That is a common bug in the software where it will search for some apps and not some others. It’s not just your phone if that makes you feel any better :]

Apple just keep blaming me having too much data. I am someone who has had an iPhone since 1st Gen 4GB version came out and have never set up as new phone. I am not going to start doing it now. I feel as though 13.2.3 has made it worse, even though they have made mention that the issue has now been addressed. Prior to 13.2.3 I was able to hard reset the phone and the search would work temporarily.

In my opinion it seems as if there is a background process using most of the resources and that is why it cannot perform simple tasks like search for a contact or search for an installed app on your phone. Just find it interesting identical data on iPhone XS Max and that is working perfectly just not on the iPhone 11 Pro Max...

Looks like your photos are stuck synchronising. Could be something to do with that perhaps?

I think I actually fixed it!

Settings > Photos > Siri & Search and turn OFF all checkboxes.

Seems to be working for now. If anyone else has this issue can you please try this and report back?

I definitely think it is related to the iCloud Photos Upload. I had disabled it for a week and still didn’t resolve the issue.
