The iPhone 11 Pro models are heavier than their counterparts from a year ago, and significantly heavier than the X.

I remember when I felt the X for the first time I was turned off by the weight (a positive for some).

The X weighs in at 174g
The XS at 177g
The 11 Pro at 188g
The 11 Pro is just 6 grams lighter than the XR/11.

The XS Max weighs in at 206g
The 11 Pro Max at a whopping 226g
The iPhone XS Max is already a hefty iPhone (I own it), I would hate to add 20 more grams to this thing.

While I applaud Apple for focusing on battery life, I can’t deny my reluctance to upgrade. Heft doesn’t make a device feel more luxurious to me. I am taken aback how much lighter my gf’s 7 is, a path I hope Apple takes next year with the predicted redesign.

The iPhone needs to go on a diet.
