This is so stupid
That a new phone will be a downgrade like that :/
Once you open the camera app. The other apps are forcefully reloaded. The 11 Pro should’ve included 6GB RAM Standard. Not too happy with that. Even the 6S plus with 2GB ram had better management. And it was a 1080p resolution phone.

This is still an issue for me and it happens only after using camera as op says. Generally apps stay in memory but once i open camera and take 1-2 pics then all other apps need reloading.

Apparently the camera app on the Max phones needs a lot more ram to do the extra stuff it can do. It seems to be getting it by scavenging the memory held in background apps

I have this problem independent of the camera app On my 11 Pro. If I’m watching a YouTube video and switch to messages, YouTube reloads. Practically unusable. It’s really posing me off.

Definitely not happening with other apps tbh. I just tried that with YouTube and messages and also opened other apps as well and it keeps everything in memory. I only experience this with camera.

Then there is something wrong with mine... YouTube is constantly reloaded. Maybe I have too many apps doing stuff in the background..?

Some people mention that this is fixed in 13.2 beta? Some others say it's not.

I'm so confused and I have made a preorder on 3/10 which should arrive soon, but I don't know if I want it anymore.

This issue and the scratching issue that so many people mention, will probably make me stay with my XS Max until I'm sure that there are no problems anymore.

Wow, that’s really not ideal. I just did my own test on my XS Max, I just realized I had YouTube sitting on something I was doing on Friday at the airport and yet yesterday (Saturday) I was out taking pictures most of the day and YouTube never closed, neither did Safari. Very odd for the 11 Pro Max to reload everything once the camera is open.

So what this means regards the 11 Pro and 11 Pro Max is that they definitely do not have extra RAM for the Camera , it’s all dependent on the 4GB.
