Does anyone know whether Apple is going to follow their cycle and bring out a iPhone 11/Pros S model before the iPhone 12, just wondering.

Rumors speculate a new design so if that’s true iPhone 12 seems appropriate. If this year was any indicator, we should start getting leaks early next year...

Will probably go straight to iPhone 5G. It's the biggest selling point of next year's iPhone.

‘S’ was for 2019. 2020 marks a new year with upgradable features like PROmotion display, inverse wireless charging, 5G, etc. Also, The numbering system will continue as it always has, as its importance shows the highest number, includes the latest iPhone models, Apple has proven they’re not migrating away from the numbering system yet.

In my opinion the S model should be erased, and Apple should stick to releasing a new model per year instead of the 2 models per year the standard model then the S model 6 months lately which is a slightly modified to the previous phone, it looks like they have entered into a new era of phone making with the Pro Models, everyone is now waiting for the iPhone 12 not the iPhone 11 Pro S

And what's about 2018 then? They even had the "S" in their names.... ;)

@TOPIC: I'll place my bet on "12" for nex year. "iPhone 5G" is too close the the iPhone 5 and 5s/5c.

Don’t think Apple will adopt 5G so soon, especially when the technology is still in its infancy and is hardly available anywhere in the world. It’ll take years for carriers to have decent coverage across all the countries.

lol. Apple has never done that. They release one iPhone a year. Not one iPhone every 6 months.

All iPhones released in September 2020 will have 5G.

The next iPhone won’t have 5G for certain. Whilst it may come from a reliable source it’s not a definite.

But anything major like 5G might mean we see iPhone 12 rather than iPhone 11S. To be honest I personally don’t want the ‘S’ to be a thing anymore it’s just a bit naff.

edit: typos

The numbering scheme in my opinion is stupid. It should go. It should be iPhone and iPhone Pro. Just like iPad/iPad Pro.

iPhone X
iPhone Xs
iPhone 11 Pro
iPhone 12?

What happened to the 11s? Numbering is silly. Get some courage, and stop the numbering schemes.

I don't see why they should adhere to any definite scheme of numbering. It's their product and they can name it accordingly to new features, a new design or whatever they please. It's not a big deal.

Everyone from Ming-Chi Kuo to Mark Gurman to Nikkei has confirmed Apple will be launching 5G phones next fall. It's not just one source, every credible source has confirmed it.

In China for instance, 5G has already been deployed in 50 cities by the three largest carriers in the world. Over 10 million users have signed up. Deployment will only speed up in the next 12 months. 5G will be a major selling point for Apple next fall.
