If I put a ATT, T mobile or Verizon sim card into my Iphone 11 Pro Sim Free phone will it lock the phone to these networks? I would like the option to go with another network if I am not happy with one of them. Thanks in advance.

Search and read:

No, the SIM free model is unlocked forever - you bought it outright, that’s the difference.

As I understand it US carriers cannot lock your LTE phone to their networks. They can, and some do, lock their phone to their networks which it is until you pay it off.

I've asked the same question, MCLOCO. Should I buy the sim-free or go with a carrier option? The consensus is that the phone should be unlocked if purchased from Apple at full price (sim-free or carrier). However, I've also read horror stories of phones being locked by carriers, regardless.

That is my worry.

If you have a Sim Free iPhone purchased from Apple, it will not lock to any network.

These are the anecdotal info I’ve gathered, although not for SIM free iPhone specifically.
At&t will lock your eSIM, at least on iPads.
Verizon might lock your phone for 60 days, at least for Verizon iPhones, even if you paid it in full.

I think the key is getting the sim-free version. If you get the carrier version, they can play tricks with you.

There are no carrier specific cellular iPads, they’re all basically “sim free”, yet AT&T can still lock the eSIM inside those iPads. So just FYI as YMMV.

You have a point there. I was referring to physical sim cards. I'm sure an eSim they can easily lock.
