Hi

I currently have an iPhone 11 which has a cracked screen (can only see the crack if you look at an angle so doesn't affect use).

Trying to work out if upgrading to a 13 Pro is worth it for the Camera abilities alone as the 11 is fine for everything else, its not slow and I don't care about the rest of the improvements in terms of screen refresh rate or battery life etc.

I use the phone a fair amount for taking pictures and videos so hoping the improvements are worth me dropping a grand (maybe £800 after selling the 11) for the Camera improvements alone?

Youtube videos suggest its better overall and low light looks like and improvements but is it worth the jump if the Camera is the only improvement I care about?
Cheers

For me, it probably wouldn't have been worth it if I'd been coming from the iPhone 11. My previous phone was the iPhone X, and the 13 Pro still feels remarkable similar in a lot of ways. If I'd have been reasonable, I probably could've used the X another 2 or 3 years with a battery replacement.

At the end of the day it depends on what kind of user you are. If you care about the camera a lot, then maybe it would be worthwhile for you. I value camera quality a lot, too, but the 11 was already quite good in my opinion.

Either way, with all the cameras being updated this year, it probably wouldn‘t be entirely unreasonable.

I concur with answer above. Coming from iPhone 11, I could probably have kept it for 2-3 years more.
I really like the ultra wide/macro lens that now has auto focus, but there are some issues with the processing of photos and 3rd party apps are almost needed to be sure to use the telephoto lens.
Some issues seems to not affect all devices.

The 11 has a LCD screen, the 13P has an OLED screen. Big difference. Some people have problems with OLED screens. Don’t get rid of your 11 until you know you can tolerate the 13p screen.

You gotta ask yourself how you take pictures and how important those pictures are too you.

If you're just a casual shutterbug with no real need for finesse or lots of detail the 11 should suffice.

But if you're like things to be as crisp & "Pro" as can be, or alternatively if you care about the longevity of your pictures (eg: using your phone camera as the primary tool to document your kids growing up), then definitely upgrade.

I would say that you should also looks at certain other quality of life things you should consider that may make the purchase worth it, even if you're on the fence about the camera. The battery life is monstrous in the 13 and for me personally, that 120 Hz screen is a no-brainer.

As most tech purchase decisions go though, all comes down to personal preference.
