I’ve seen a lot of worry on various fora about the blue of the iPhone 12 (non-pro). I myself was kind of panicked after seeing an unboxing video of it. It’s the color my wife wanted and I was worried she wouldn’t like it after seeing it. Now having picked up my own Pro and her - Standard? Is that what we’re calling it - this morning I’m happy to report the blue is much nicer to the naked eye than it appears in photos videos. Not really sure why that’s the case - maybe cell phone cameras have a hard time with the color or the WB is just off. But I know that even having taken several pictures of it with my iPad hoping to show people it’s “normal” color, the picture I’m looking at while holding the phone right next to it simply don’t match.

It is, in fact, a deeper blue than the “Best Buy“ blue that appears to be in pics. I might try using my actual camera later and seeing if it looks any different as a result. Most importantly, wife loved it so I guess I no longer care, but I am still kind of confused by the really bizarre discrepancy between what I’m holding in my hand as I type this and the photo I’m looking at that I just took four minutes ago.

All of this is to say that I would recommend anyone else concerned about the color wait until they get a chance to see it in person or hold it in their hand before getting too worked up about it. This year’s Blue Fear seems to me to be largely unfounded.
