Any reviews available on the 12 pro camera yet? I moved to pixel 4 XL from iPhone 11 pro just for the camera. It's so much better than 11 pro and I'm quite happy with pixel 4 XL overall so far

Should i return back to iPhone 12? If the camera is better or si.ilar to pixel 5, I might consider going back to iPhone.

Comments welcome.

If you are all about the camera then 12 pro max will be the one to get.

I can't handle the 6.7in screen. Too big.
Question with 12 pro is how good is that camera compared to pixel 5?

I might have to get both and return one.

Losing face id on pixel 5 is a bummer for me though!!

Honestly, I think the iPhone 12’s have now overtaken the pixel overall. Their hardware is old tech, and their computational software hasn’t really been improved upon much, where as Apple have improved the lens, HDR3, larger sensor on the Pro Max as well as other upgrades and improvements. There are a few pixel 5 camera videos on YouTube and comparisons and even the iPhone 11 was pretty much on-par, it just depends on what photo you prefer these days they all do a great job and I think most people would be happy with any of them.

I agree. Pixel is using similar small sensor for the main camera as iPhone and Apple has done good job on developing their computational photography.

As far as I can remember Pixel used to have larger sensor compared to Apple but the sensor size for the iPhones increased with Xs.

Today the Huawei and Xiaomi most likely have the best image quality for photos if you look at the results from the whole camera array.

From the few shots I’ve seen, improvements are there, but are small and not huge leaps, especially in good lighting. More noticeable improvements are only in low light.

At the end of the day, these cameras are still cell phone cameras and can’t compare to the big lens look of dedicated cameras. Just don’t expect too much and won’t be disappointed.

I actually had the 11 pro for a few months and sold it. Most of my pictures are of the family and friends. I switched to pixel 4 XL mainly for the low light pictures indoors. Compared to the 11 pro it was so much better. For regular phots with proper lighting or daylight it was almost the same. But in low light the night sight was much better.

I still prefer iOS by far compared to android. Photos the only thing that's keeping me away. I haven't used my DSLR for a long time now. Pixel 4 XL is just awesome.

Ah yeah, low light has definitely been improved this year from the video comparisons I've watched. The fact that nightmode is now available on all the camera lenses is an advantage as well as improved HDR3, other software improvements as well as LiDAR depth mapping to help with focus and depth in low light enhancing detail and resulting in what appears to be less noise than previously giving a much more usable photo than previously.

I like Peter McKinnon, but all the photos he shows in the video have been edited in Lightroom. You can make any photo from any camera look awesome in post. I wish he had at least posted a link to the unedited photos.

Well, if you can make any photo from any camera look awesome in post, why does the camera matter and why do you need to see a review? Just buy it and make all your photos look awesome in post...

I enjoy how every year, everyone wants to know about the camera, yet all everyone takes pictures of is food, nature scenes, family, babies, and other non sensical photos. Never to be looked at again, never leave the phone. Lol

I'm looking forward to the Pro Max. That's the one I'm holding out for. Coming from an XS, this will be a massive upgrade for me.

because it doesn't accurately show what the camera is producing without editing. that's like taking a picture at night and adding sun rays onto the photo, or slapping a filter on it.

Well, you claim you can make any photo from any camera look awesome in post, so why do you care what the photo looks like straight off the camera? I mean, if its that easy to get awesome photos off any camera right?

I don't think we are on the same page here. Simply put, I want to see the un-edited photos before all the editing. RELEASE THE SYNDER CUT

if you want to see photos straight off the iPhone, there are literally dozens of non photographer reviews out there, go watch one.

And exactly what photos would be considered “sensical”?

Cats? 😛
