iPhone 12 iPhone 12 doesn’t seem premium?

I just had a look at the 12 and 12pro, expecting a similar feel like the 2017 SE - but these don’t feel premium to me. The way the band goes around the phone is almost like a cheap toy.

The SE had a more industrial feel to it somehow. Or maybe it’s just the colours that make it feel like that.

Am I the only one?

The build quality is completely identical to the pro. The only difference is the material of the band. It’s the weight of it that’s throwing you off. Personally I like the lighter weight of the 12. Its nice to have a large phone that won’t weigh down my pocket. I wish the pro came in aluminum for that reason alone. There is nasty case of faux elitism going around in regards to the two phones. At the end of the day they are both Apple products regardless of materials.

I understand why you feel that way. A lot of new Apple products are being made lighter and lighter. It’s that sense of heft that has decreased over the years. Maybe your not used to the back glass as well? Aluminum would be my preference for the entire phone, but wireless charging comes at a price. Maybe one day an aluminum iPhone will make a comeback. Until then you will have to make due with what we got.
