Hi! I have iPhone 12 with FaceID enabled. I noticed that the TrueDepth camera works all the time. If I place the mobile phone in front of another camera, the infrared light is constantly visible. Can I stop it? I want it to work only when needed, eg when unlocking. Thanks in advance!

I have disabled this feature but it didn't work
Not sure if this is part of how it’s all supposed to work By default Is this something you noticed recently or in relation to repair works or a software update?
What OS version are u on?

I suspect there might be a few more features that might use it, have you tried turning off “raise to wake”?

I bought the iPhone recently. It was used for a year. So I don't know if something happened inside it. It runs iOS 17.5.1. The "rase to wake" feature is disabled.

From what I can gather, since you turned off the attention aware features it could just be the proximity sensor, which on iPhones with the larger notch it was put in between the Flood Illuminator and Dot Matrix Projector, parts of the TrueDepth Camera and you can't turn it off.
