Carrier iPhone 12 for outside the US with 5G support - advice?

Hi everyone.

I was asked to help a friend which is living outside the US (Israel) and wants to get the iPhone 12 or 12 PRO.

I wanted to make sure I am giving her the correct advice.

I want to make sure that I am choosing the correct model for her to be able to use 5G in Israel (where she lives).

Anyone has a clue how do I know about this?

I don't even know where to start.

Always best to get an European model if you’re talking about Israel.

In the case of iPhone 12, my understanding is that this time around Apple made the US model a superset of all frequencies including the EU ones. So it seems the US model has more potential compatibilities than EU model.
