Today, for the first time, I was using my iPhone 12 directly under the sun. The first thing I noticed was that I couldn’t see a damn thing (dim).

But I also saw what appeared to be large pixels. I’ve attached an image with the screen off (screen on looked the same). It doesn’t really show exactly what I saw but it’s the best I could do taking the pic with my friend’s SE 2020.

The photo looks like some blobs, but what I actually saw with my eyes looked like perfectly defined, rectangular red, green and blue pixels on a small horizontal strip of the screen, and this strip would go up or down on the display depending on how I angled it. It looked like I was looking at pixels under a microscope.

Anyone have thoughts on this?

The screen has touch sensors underneath it, it’s more touch sensors that you saw. It’s less dense than any screen pixels.

Interesting, my 12 pro max doesn’t look like that. 🤔 maybe it’s because of the green tint that apple is taking their time on fixing. 🤦‍♂️🙄

Welp, I’m past my 14-day return period by a few days. There’s all sorts of screen issues compared to my (traded in) XR. Guess I’ll just see how much I can put up with and then go to the damn Apple store. Thanks for the input, everyone.

If you go to the Apple store and speak to the manager I’m sure you will be able to return it and you can buy a new one. As long the 14-day period is within a few days.
