Apologies if there’s already a thread on this - I’ve been unable to find one thus far. Has anyone noticed that while using a standard USB-A to lightning adapter and wall charger to charge the 12 mini, once the battery charges to 100% it acts as though it’s constantly disconnecting and reconnecting? Or any other strange behavior with charging? In another thread someone mentioned they could only charge to 81% using the MagSafe charger overnight.

I have a 5W Belkin wireless charger that’s been having issues - usually cuts off around 70-85%. I think I’ve gotten it to 100% once. Thought it was some compatibility issue, but it sounds like it might be something to do with the mini.
No issues at all with 5W lightning charging so far.

You don't have Optimized Battery Charging turned on by any chance? (Settings>Battery>Battery Health>Optimized Battery Charging)

Yes I do have optimized battery charging enabled, I always have. I’ve never noticed this behavior on my previous phones though. I was using an Anker dual USB-A wall charger with a 10ft. Belkin lightning cable. Never had any issues with it before I got the mini.

So the question is, did you get a lockscreen notice about optimized charging and a time when it is scheduled to finish charging? Depending on your location, settings, previous habits it could have engaged, the whole point of what it does is to stop charging at ~80% and then wait until the last minute to resume charging with the goal of being complete before your usual time when you would start using the phone, so that it minimizes the amount of time the battery will spend at a full state of charge.

Right, I’ve seen those notifications on previous phones. But I didn’t get one on the mini, and I’ve never seen a phone act like it’s repeatedly connecting and disconnecting to the charger before when it’s just sitting there plugged into a power source.
