Hey all,

For some reason, whenever I get into my car (after turning it off) my iPhone 12 mini won't pair to my car's Bluetooth. Selecting my car from the list of Bluetooth devices on my iPhone gives me an error, and the only solution is to delete the pairing on both my car and my iPhone and pair again.

I haven't changed any settings on my car stereo, and it was working fine last week with my iPhone SE, which was also on 14.2 much like my current 12 mini. My car is a Toyota with the default (and awful) Toyota Entune system.

It seems from lurking around that there seem to be a few Bluetooth issues with the iPhone 12, but is anyone else experiencing this, and/or have a solution?

iPhone 12 Pro through CarPlay (Subaru Ascent) - calls connect but neither party can hear each other. Everything I read blames it on the car, but it works with an iPhone X and an iPhone 11. Not the same issue but thought I’d piggyback on since the issues are similar.

yep this happens with my BMW, and all the other people I know with the 12 Pro Mac and their BMW's.

I don't always have to unpair, if I drive long enough it will connect eventually. And also in a call, it will just disconnect from the bluetooth.

EDIT. My 11 Pro Max was faultless.

If it’s any consolation, I updated my Toyota’s Entune system (update came out in 2016, my car is a 2014) and on the one drive I’ve taken since then it remembered my phone after unpairing and repairing right after updating.

So what I’m saying is update your car systems, if that’s an option.

My experience is that it can be the car's fault from using more than one device. I've had to go into car's settings and delete a device from memory. I haven't had that problem with my new 12, but likely only because I plug it in to USB every time.
