iPhone 12 PM getting hot while using apple wallet

I’ve noticed that while using my 12PM the phone will get really hot when I have my apple wallet on. It’s summer her and fairly warm (89 degrees F) and humid. But I’m just texting and it’s uncomfortably warm. Pretty sure the screen dimmed at one point.
Anyone else notice this?

After 14.6 my mini gets hot no matter what I do. Case or no case. My 3-day old se2 isn’t experiencing any heating issues and I’ve used it while slow charging with numerous apps open and browsing using safari. I’m not sure what’s going on.

It seems to be alright while indoors. Though I don’t really use the wallet while I’m home. Maybe I should use the wallet while home and see how it does
