What? Are you serious? Try finding any HDR content and give feedback.

Try with native YouTube app, not Safari.

I tried finding 4-5 HDR videos on youtube but they are not showing HDR but intsead of 4K.

It actually works a few times by yesterday after unboxed. But not working for now. Not sure why

Same for my iPhone 12 Pro, videos that worked on my XS don’t play with HDR. YouTube’s iOS 14 support has been all over the place, my iPad Pro 10.5 still wont play 4K or HDR, even though it has a high resolution than a iPhone (that will play 4K) and its display supports HDR. I guess we’ll be waiting for youtube to maybe update to fix this.

Hi all,

same problem with me I’m trying YouTube app updated and can’t even see hdr options in the 3dot menu.
P.S
played hdr Vimeo on safari and didn’t work but works on edge browser.
here’s the link to it try it on safari and edge.
anyone got any solution?

Btw try it in safari by copy pasting the link not the pop up.

For me YouTube HDR works on iPhone 12 Pro on the YouTube app if I am not signed into my account. If I sign in, the HDR option goes away.

Took a long time to get 4K to properly work on Apple TV. Fk Google jealous of new iPhone they’re going take their long ass time to update.

Well iPhone XS/Max was released Sept 21st 2018, Youtube was updated to support HDR on Sept 26th 2018

iPhone 11 Pro/Max was released Sept 20th 2019, Youtube was updated to Support HDR on 20th October 2019

I’m gonna go out on a limb and say this is because the YouTube app hasn’t been updated to specifically support iPhone 12 yet
No, I have the exact same issue with my iPhone XS. I get full HDR support only if I’m not signed into any Google account on both my XS and my 12 Pro. I do think it‘s a YouTube bug, but it has nothing to do with iPhone 12.

Just set up a brand new iPhone 12 and didn’t sign into anything except my apple ID

No HDR option in YouTube. On my signed in iPhone 11 HDR videos automatically play in HDR.
