Depending on if they have extra stock that are designated for pre-orders, they might let you return the phone you ordered and purchase another one in a different color. I suspect that they stock they have on hand will only be for pre-orders.
Not sure if this helps at all, but here's a 12 gold pro photo I found on Insta. I think you really need to see them in person but they are going to look different in varying light no matter what.
That's my guess too. Hoping I like the pacific blue but my current 6 is a silver and I've always liked it. Had picked the PB to try something different but it really is tricky when you can't see them ahead of time.
The gold looks really nice, not flashy but more subtle with the frosted back glass. The iPhone 12 is probably the best looking of all the iPhone generations IMO. In fact, they look really classy compared to the current crop of other phones available.
I hope so. I got graphite but after seeing the photos of pacific blue and gold, I might have to switch it out.
I was all set to get pacific blue, and I even pre-ordered it. But after seeing several hands-on videos, I canceled it for the silver model. The blue just seemed much darker in murkier than I was expecting and I love the pristine look of the silver
Yep it looks a lot prettier than the graphite. I’m going to wait until I get the graphite tomorrow afternoon but I’ll go to Apple to see if they have any golds available.

From the videos I have seen of the graphite, it seems to change from what looks like silver to darker depending on the lighting conditions and angle. I think all the Pro colors look great. The frosted back gives them a more subtle look.
For me, I have owned silver color iPhones since the iPhone 4S. I want some color this time, that is why I chose the Pacific Blue.
Well in those pictures, the gold is still a bit much for my taste, but I love the color on the back. The blue is really a good blue.
After having midnight green, I’m getting a graphite 12 Pro. Green was great, but sometimes I was annoyed with the color. I feel the same way towards Pacific Blue where it’s a great color, but not something for me to love for a long time. Graphite is a good balance where I will never get tired of it and it retains a premium look.

Agreed with this completely and why I also ordered Graphite.Pacific Blue is beautiful but it’s too trendy.
Boy do I hate coiling those cables. Especially having to do it again right after because a customer waited til I coiled it the first time and touched it hahaha.
I think all the pro colours are nice which is why I'm still having a hard time deciding which one even though I've bought Pacific Blue.

The gold in store actually looked a lot less bling than in some videos and pictures. Personally I’d never pick gold myself but it was a very nice finish and a subtle champagne colour before the rear glass.
This video shows them all off really well.
