I opened my brand new iPhone 12 Pro yesterday and immediately noticed the whites being yellow, the darks being greenish, and a terrible blue shift when viewed at angles (though the OLED blacks functioned properly). I immediately compared the display to my roommates iPhone 12 and saw that mine was significantly worse than his, despite mine being more than a month newer.

I did a bunch of reading and saw that this was an ongoing problem with the OLED displays. Though in many other threads people said Apple replaced their device when they showed them the problem. There is no open Apple store in my area for me to take the device to and compare to displays. In photos and videos the yellow/green tint is hard to distinguish, but very apparent to the naked eye. Though I was able to capture the significant difference in the blue tint when viewed at an angle:

As you can see all display settings are exactly the same, and mine is blue shifting much more significantly than my roommates. Keep in mind that the color difference is much more significant in person. Mine had a tempered glass protector just like the other when I noticed the problem. I only took mine off to see if that would help (maybe my tempered glass was low quality or something). I factory reset the phone and the color problem only got worse, this time with added restart issues where it would try to restart and fail over and over.

I am aware that whites on an OLED aren't as clear as they are on an LED (I had an XR before which helped me notice the problem originally). Thats fine with me, I'll take darker blacks over whiter whites. I'm also aware that SOME blue shifting is to be expected with an OLED.

I'm an independent filmmaker and I use iPhone with FilmicPro to shoot my footage. I use the Apple Pro Tools suite for all my editing even though it has constant compatibility issues. I have been an Apple user all my life. I kept with it because I thought they were good tools with good support. I want to take advantage of DolbyVision but my screen can't even display it properly. I've seen people suggesting that I add a blue color filter, and yeah, that helps with daily use but it totally destroys the dynamic color spectrum I'm supposed to be able to take advantage of.

I have talked to apple support twice already. Once on their text chat and once on the phone. Both times they dismissed my concerns and refused to send a replacement saying it is a software issue that they are resolving. They have released MANY updates since they identified the issue, including IOS14, that have not solved this. People around me have phones with displays that work properly on the same operating system I am running. Apple is still refusing to send me a replacement. I shouldn't have to be a filmmaker to expect a functioning product, but it does make me extra sensitive to the quality of my tools.

What else can I do? It seems like my only option at this point is returning the phone for a refund. If that's really what it takes to avoid being taken advantage of I'm not sure I'll ever buy an Apple product again.

There is plenty of information on the web stating Apple is aware of the issue and is working on a software fix. This exact thing happened with the iPhone 11 Pro/ Pro Max and Apple fix it with a software patch. If you don't want to wait, then request a return and get rid of the phone and buy something that suits you. Nothing else to say really, Apple doesn't frequent these forums and I doubt you'll get any other advise here..
