yup. I ultimately went for the normal black 12, even tho I was set to get the 12 Pro Max. I loved my slate black iPhone 5, it was my first iPhone, and 12 in black is just so much like it.

And tbh I never had that problem with my 11 Pro, but the 12 Pro seems way too slippery to me 🤷‍♂️ Everyone's been saying that steel sides are less slippy, but I've spent almost an hour deciding at a local store 😨 and felt exact opposite. Aluminum + shiny glass is much better this time round. I couldn't imagine living with a huge phone I'd be constantly in fear of dropping, so went with the 12.

Put some black matte film on the sides. This is the film I am planning on using. I am going to use a clear film on the 12 Pro Max.

Love the black sides on the iPhone 5. They were prone to chipping though which is probably why Apple moved away from it.

I'm also not overly fond of the glossy side bands aesthetic on the 12 Pro, somehow actually looks cheaper IMO. The matte glass finish on the back still looks very smart, though.
