iPhone 12 Pro iPhone 12 Pro Max Lightning port doesn't work out of the box...

Like the title said, took it out of the box, lightning port does nothing. Won't charge or make a data connection. Even after it was set up, same issue. It charges wirelessly, but this is still not ideal.

Anyone else have this issue?
 
It’s just defective just ask to get it replaced at the Apple store. Should have stock to replace.
 
I checked online, there are no appointments available for over a week in my area...
 
I was able to go to the apple store and get it replaced. They tried to do an exchange for a new one, since it was broken out of the box, but it wouldn't work since I had upgraded through AT&T Next. Instead they did an in warranty genius fix/replacement. They assured me that what I was getting was not a refurbished phone, since the phones only started shipping this past Friday.
