Just realized my SIM card tray isn’t flush with the frame, it’s barley noticeable, it’s slightly raised on one side, happy with the rest of the phone, do I take a chance and return it and end up with a phone that isn’t as good as this one? or do I live with it?

Apparently the IMEI number is on the sim tray, would apple send me out a sim tray with my IMEI number on it?

Anyone else have the same problem?

I’ll give apple a call tomorrow.

What are the chances of them sending me out a sim tray with my IMEI on it?
Honestly I didn’t even know the IMEI was printed on the tray.

edit: I just checked, and I’ll be darned. It’s there. But you need microscopic vision to see it

Same here until recently someone on these forums mentioned it, guess you learn something new everyday at macrumors forum 😂.

If apple can’t send out a replacement sim tray I’ll most likely just keep the phone, it’s barley noticeable and the phone will be in a case most of the time.

Definitely. When my brother first got his 6s plus years back it was his first time inserting a sim. He used the wrong tool to eject it and bent it. He had to force it to be somewhat level and just jammed it in there and it worked fine for the couple years he had it. He didn’t give a flip.

Exact same thing happened on a xs max I ordered, apple are sent me out a replacement tray. It was the rubber gasket on the tray causing the issue. They do have to get a little creative, because it is not a part covered under warranty, it’s considered physical damage, but they will waive the fee. That was my experience.

I think mine is the same, yes. Mildly annoying as it’s under my thumb all the time when holding the phone.

Okay got my 12 pro max. Tray wasn’t flush on one side. I reseated it and pushed it with some pressure and it popped right in place.

What do you mean by reseated? Playing musical chairs? 🤔😂

I wouldn’t sweat it but my phones are cased and that can’t be seen anyway. Those bothered a bunch by it which will be worse. That slight abnormality or the nicks and scratches that will inevitable and forever etched in the outer casing? That part not aimed at you OP as I see you use a case.
