Hi Everyone,

I am hoping you can help me with an iPhone issue which is driving me up the wall.
Out of the blue, my work 12 Pro iPhone started running very hot. I thought it was just a temporary issue so just turned the iPhone off and on again.

However upon turning it back on, it displayed a message "swipe up to recover", which I had never seen before. After the recovery was finished, everything worked as usual with all my apps and everything there, however it was still running extremely hot, and the battery was draining super quickly (I would say 10% in 15 minutes).

Before the iPhone started running super hot, it was working flawlessly. I had just left it on my desk, and I haven't had any settings changes or downloaded any new apps for weeks - so am super confused to what might be going on.

Would greatly appreciate any assistance!

Kind Regards

It’s malfunctioning. Turn it off and send it/take it to Apple.
The situation might escalate into a battery fire which (among other things) creates toxic smoke.
