Sorry for what's probably a stupid question, but I'm picking up iPhones for my wife and I today. We're on Verizon already. Do we need to use the new SIM that will be in the Verizon iPhones we purchased, or do we put our old SIM in? What about eSIM? Do we even need a SIM?

This is the message I got when I used my 11 Pro SIM for my 12 Pro.

The new SIMs say 5G on top.

Did you have any issues getting hotspot to work on your iPhone 12 Pro on Verizon using the SIM card from your previous phone?

I also received this message but ignored it at first only to realize that hotspot doesn’t work for me. Not sure if I need a new SIM card to solve this.

Waited on hold with Verizon today for a while but never got to talk to someone about this. I’m also finding their online SIM order form doesn’t work for me.

My Verizon plan doesn’t include hotspot, so I’m not sure I’d have the answer to that one. Sorry!
