I have an iPhone 13, had it for a few years. All good apart not being able to use Airpods for voice calls as they start disconnecting and reconnecting continously if used for voice calls.

Problem has been lamented here and on other posts:

I did everything suggested by Apple, at the very beginning they also replaced my Airpods but no cigar.

Anwyay, I'm opening this posts because I think this is a wider issue with radio on the iPhone.

I use a Cardo headset while traveling by motorbike. Generally worked fine initially. In the last year or so it started randomly disconnecting/reconnecting to the iPhone. Both when idle or during calls.
It is particularly annoying because the intercom will announce "iPhone connected/disconnected" when the disconnection happens, and this can go on repeat for half an hour every minute or so, while you are traveling down a motorway or in unpleasant weather conditions and you cannot stop to take the phone off your backpack and chuck it into the nearest gutter. :D

Another thing I noticed is that my iPhone "hangs" when I am transferring data to it via Airdrop. And this is via both my Mac Studio and my MBP.

Generally the transfer starts and then "hangs" when reaching 50% or 70%.
You have to cancel the transfer, turn off bluetooth and wifi, turn them on again and re-initiate the transfer. That would generally fix the issuer (temporarily).

I notice that switching off/on the radio services (bt, wifi) also fixes the Aripods calls connection issues. Even though the "temporarily" span there is dramatically shorter. It just buys you a few minutes.

Is this something to do with memory problems for bt and wifi comms?
This happens at home and elsewhere. So not specific location/network related.

I've experience this happening on a brand new 14 too (someone else's phone).

Over the last few years this has been driving me mad.
The Airpods work perfectly during calls if connected to the Mac. But now the problem is expanding to other devices (intercom/airdrop).

I want to find the problem here, before dropping 1k on another iPhone and experiencing the same issue.
