Hi all,

Title says it all.

I saw posts about Verizon and wanted to also warn people from using esim with mint mobile and iPhone 13. It currently does not work. According to their support services they have an internal document. No clue what their issue is or how long it will last but they were not very helpful. They need to send me a new physical sim.

I don’t know enough about SIMs. I was surprised they couldn’t reactivate my old SIM, since I had all the serial numbers. Ah well… luckily I thought of reactivating my old iPhone with the esim and at least now can use the old phone while waiting for the new sim.

Completley unrelated with a physical sim and dual esim support, can one have three phone/data plans active at the same time? Also can one mix and match cdma and gsm plans?

Hope my info spares some headaches,

philly

Works fine on iPhone 12. This is a surprise if true. From iPhone XR on I believe you can have 15 or 20 esims but only one active at a time

Found this

seems like they might have fixed the issue (see replies to post). But tech support doesn‘t know they have.

You certainly can have two esims active at the same time with an iPhone 13 (listed as a feature) just not sure if you can have two esims and a physical sim active at the same time

How is this possible? Oh wait you mean one as primary and one as secondary? I’m going to try and setup 10 or so esims set because I travel a lot

I’m typing this on an iPhone 13 Pro on Mint Mobile with an eSIM. I don’t know where you are getting this information but it is categorically wrong. Couldn’t have been easier to setup the eSIM, just log into the Mint Mobile app, order replacement SIM, choose eSIM click a few prompts and done. Tested and working.

You can only have two active SIMs at once. This could be two eSIMs or an eSIM and a physical SIM.

You could have a whole bunch of eSIMs installed and jump between them but you can only have two actively working at any time. I have a UK and US eSIM both on my phone (but I only activate the one I’m currently using incase of roaming charges).

That’s what I said. A primary and secondary

Good for you. I'm glad it worked for YOU, but my information is NOT categorically wrong. It didn't work for me or others. They had issues, supposedly they fixed them (although people are still having issues). Did EXACTLY what you did AND talked talked to tech support AND googled around. Guess what? It wasn't as smooth for all of us. I even posted a link to Mint Mobile's own reddit (so I actually did research and post where I got some of my info) . So my information was not categorically wrong and btw also based on information I was given by Mint tech support (they themselves were poorly informed as they stated it was a general issue). I grant you my title in retrospect was not phrased as well as it could have been but I posted later with reddit link that mentioned they had fixed the problem.

I was trying to save people the hours of aggravation I dealt with.

EDIT: https://www.reddit.com/r/mintmobile/ Here actually the link for the official reddit channel, as you can see multiple posts. Most likely a small group but we have no way of knowing how many are affected. For those that are it can be a real issue. In some cases people have lost cell service and are in limbo.

There was a temporary issue that was resolved very quickly. They actually took care of that faster than T-Mobile was able to resolve my girlfriend’s SIM card issue in-store.

Wanted to post here that I converted my Verizon Wireless primary line to esim successfully and added a Mint Mobile secondary line esim with no problem on my 13 Pro Max. Been working great. Love the data sharing - finding that when Verizon has low reception, Mint usually has near max, and when Mint is low, Verizon has near max so it's working well for me here in southern CA. Wifi calling works great too. Been pretty happy with Mint (relatively new customer).

Yes, my experience on eSIM w/ Mint Mobile has also been great. I set up a trial number on my 2nd eSIM line before helping a friend move to their service (they aren't as technically inclined and worried they'd mess it up). It went very smoothly for both of us. Friend is very happy.
