iPhone 13 mini iPhone 13 mini charging problem , please advise , thanks all of you

I have a 13 mini running iOS 17.6.1 . there are some charging problem recently , I take it to apple store today and the staff help me
to run the test , the test show there are a alert on the mainboard , the staff told me that maybe I should update the iOS to 18 even up to iOS 26 , I am wonder will the iOS 18 ruined my 13 mini , actually I am paid US 397 to replace a whole unit 12/2024 only , the max capacity of the battery is 94 right now , I do love the form factor of mini series, will you guy upgrade to IOS 18 ? thanks for all comment from all of you guys !!

Have 13 mini on iOS 18 and it is fine. No issues whatsoever.

Not that I have noticed. Again, no issues whatsoever.

Apple staff won’t really help you unless you’ve updated to the latest possible iOS version for your device. I have a 13 with the same chip as the 13 Mini and it runs iOS 26 perfectly. There’s no reason not to upgrade.
