Do you think Apple will discontinue the iPhone 13 mini when iPhone 14 is released, or will Apple hang on to it and sell it at a discounted price? Not sure if I should wait or buy the mini now? I don’t need the mini right away but I don’t want to scramble searching if Apple stops selling it. Any advice?

How long after an iPhone announcement do they stop selling the discontinued phones? Is it immediate?

Apple still sells the iPhone 12 mini and iPhone 12 currently.

So maybe the iPhone 13 mini and iPhone 13 will remain available?

  • iPhone 13

  • iPhone SE

I like this thinking but I feel like it will be hard to differentiate between the iPhone 13 and 14.

Or, more likely imo, since the cpu, screen, back camera, etc on the 14 will be identical to the 13, the 14 just replaces it and the 13 Mini stays the same.
So:
SE: $429
12 Mini: $529
12: $629
13 Mini: $729
14: $829
Makes the most sense to me.

It's unlikely Apple will leave money on the table. The iPhone 13 has only been on sale for one year, so they'll continue to mine it.

There are plenty of ways for Apple to differentiate the iPhone 14 including memory, front camera, GPU, next-gen X65 modem, Ceramic Shield 2, etc. And old phones never get new camera software features, which makes marketing happy - Deep Fusion 2, Smart HDR 5, etc.

Hard to tell, but you could buy a 13 mini at the current price few days before iPhones 14 are announced and keep it sealed. If 13 mini gets discontinued, you keep it. If Apple keep selling it, you can return it within 14 days and buy it again later at a lower price?
