I'm going to switch from my old iPhone 7 to either 13 mini or iPhone 12, but I can't make up my mind. Battery life is key factor for me and I saw in tests that iPhone 13 mini has better performance compared to 12 when it comes to battery life. What's your experience guys? Which one should I go?

On some tests the 13 mini is slightly better and on others the 12 is. I like smaller form factor better so I’d get the 13 mini. If battery life is the biggest concern for you then spend the extra $100 and get the regular 13. It has much better battery life than both those other options.

pay the extra $100 for the regular 13, it has better battery life FOR SURE over the 12 and 13 mini.

I was wondering about this for my partner who is still on an iPhone 7 and prefers smaller phones. Am I right in thinking that the 13 mini would have better battery life than the 7, even when the 7 was new?

Definitely.
