Hey folks! Just upgraded from the 11 pro to 13 pro. I picked up a nomad leather folio to replace the Apple folios I’ve been using since the iPhone X. Very disappointed to realize that the Nomad doesn’t have the sleep/wake “smarts” of the old Apple cases, automatically sleeping and waking when I open and close the case. I’m wondering if anybody knows if there are cases that offer similar functionality (or if it’s even possible…I suppose Apple might well have removed the magnets that make such a feature work Since they no longer offer their own version?) Such a shame, 4 years of muscle memory is hard to unlearn, and it was such a beautiful case!

I don’t think the feature exists any more. I’ve just done a similar upgrade, going from the older X though. The nomad leather folio case was the closest thing I could find to the original apple leather folio, (which has been the best case I’ve owned). The lack of a decent case and this magnet sensor feature for the 12 Pro was a big reason for me not making the upgrade last year.

This year the X was getting too long in the tooth, so I went for 13 Pro, knowing the available cases were never going to be as comfortable, or convenient. It’s a shame the feature seems to have been silently dropped.
