Is that bad for the battery? The reason I use my PS5 to charge my phone is to prevent plugging the charger in the wall.

To minimize heating while plugged in: Take it out of its case Don’t use it while fast charging. If the heat is bothering you while plugged in and using it, get a 5 watt charger. It won’t generate as much heat. If a battery can survive two years (of abuse) before being degraded to 80% battery health, that’s “normal “ as far as Apple is concerned.
