I currently have an iPhone 7 Plus and I want to upgrade to an iPhone 13 Pro Max. I have been with Verizon over 10 years. Are there any deals out there or am I better off buying the phone from the Apple Store? Someone told me that Verizon would give me an $600 Discount if you upgrade with them and buy my old phone back. Not sure if this accurate or not? Please let me know. Thanks.

I believe you can go online (at VZ) and see what the trade in value will be but I believe its the same as apple which is around $100 if I remember right.

The problem with some of the carrier deals is that they charge an upgrade fee and lock you into a contract for 2-3 years. Buying direct from apple, you can use education or military discounts if you are eligible and get the unlocked phone with no strings.

Buy from Apple (or Amazon etc) and break free from your carrier; if they want you locked into a contract it isn't for your benefit. Be assured I've been practising what I preach for more than a decade.

My friend has the 7 Plus and tried the Max in the store. Have you?

"No way I will carry this brick," she said.

The Max is friggin heavy. You'll be shocked.

My friend is holding on to her 7 Plus. She got a new battery instead of a new phone. ~$45 vs. $1,600.
