Phone. I already had 16.0 so im

So what did apple tell me I needed to install when plugging in my iPhone?

This is first time I’m plugging it in since the Mac OS update. Maybe was a security update.

Are you referring to this update? If so, that is just updating your computer to be able to use the phone. (Essentially installing updated drivers to work with iOS 16). It's not updating the phone itself.
