My last iPhone was the iPhone 7. I did have an iPhone 10 for work though and it wasn't too bad.

Anyways, I've been on Android for a little while and am looking to come back to iPhone. I am looking to pick up a refurbished iPhone and am leaning towards the iPhone 13 Pro Max (1TB). Why? Because this was the last generation with a physical SIM tray in the United States.

I plan on using this as a placeholder to get to the iPhone 17 Pro Max (1TB) later this year.

Is there much of a difference between the 13 and 14? I know that if I went with the 14 that I would have to go with eSIM. When I travel abroad, I plan on using my Android for my non-US numbers and my iPhone for my US number.

Also, any recommendations on where to purchase a refurbished 13? I've heard about their Amazon's Refurbished Premium Program. But does anyone know of any other options?

Thanks in advance!

Not too much with the base models.

13 Pro to 14 Pro gives you Always on Display, Dynamic Island, Satellite Messaging and crash detection, and of course you lose the physical sim in the US. The latter two are also in the base model 14.

I'd personally only buy refurbished from Apple's site. They currently have the 13 Pro Max on there in the US. Second hand, say Swappa, Amazon Refurbised, Woot, etc you can probably get a much better price on if you wanted to take the risk.
