I noticed that when moving from 1X to 3X, on camera mode, the image tends to be a bit shaky. When on video - also at 3X, instead, the image is more stable.

However while in camera mode with 3X, if one takes a picture, then stabilisation kicks in. Hence it seems like a software bug. Anyone else noticed it?

I went to the apple store and all the iphone13pro in the store did it too.. This would indicate it’s a software issue… hopefully

The "normal" wide lense (1x) uses "dual optical image stabilization" AND "sensor shift stabilization" while the telephoto lense (3x) only uses "dual optical image stabilization", therfore the difference.

No software issue but real difference in hardware and totaly normal. :)

Thanks.

The person at the apple store offered a replacement, but since all phones in the store did the same, I preferred to just keep it as it is for now and hope it’s something it can be fixed via software.

If you view this link below, you can see how evident it is when taking a picture or a writing (it’s a lot more evident than in many other scenarios). And most importantly, how after a couple of pictures, it stabilises (though that isn’t always true). If it eventually stabilises - at times - it must be software related…
