Hello,

I used compare tool on Apple website, but wondering what's the difference :
  • LiDAR Scanner : is it really useful ? I see only "Night mode portraits" which is nice to have
  • ProMotion technology for the 120Hz : so the iPhone 13 will have only 60Hz everytime ? What's the battery impact of ProMotion : better than using 60Hz or not ?
  • Telephoto camera (x3) : better than nothing, but still low. I would have something like x6 optical zoom (and not "6x optical zoom range across the system")
For myself, the only things I will use and that make me find the 13 Pro really better is ... the ProMotion.
What about you ?

5x GPU cores vs 4x, better battery life (20 vs 15 hours - video streamed - maybe larger battery, maybe because powerful gpu and promotion), probably 6 vs 4GB ram, Night mode on telephoto, 1000 nits brightness, pro res video,
Wide: ƒ/1.6 aperture, Ultra Wide: ƒ/2.4 aperture in 13 vs
Wide: ƒ/1.5 aperture, Ultra Wide: ƒ/1.8 aperture in 13 Pro

Theres no doubt its better as highlighted above.

How much you will notice in real world is debatable and down to the individual.

I am considering both at the moment, always gone pro but this year may not.

Lidar I think would help - but not many night shots these days.
Telephoto I don't use that often
Pro res video probably isn't for me.
1000 nits - not sure how much difference and how often this would kick in, in day to day use
Better apertures would be welcome - but not sure if (in my case) it justify's the price difference - I'm sure for others it will.

Still on the fence.

Doesn't help that to me the weight and finish of the non pro is nicer imo 😁

Pro Max all the way for me. If I pick up a smaller phone after having the max for the past 3 years and they feel tiny and too squinty. Plus I often reach the end on my battery even with the 12PM so the extra couple of hours will definitely be nice.
